Optimal - Ophthalmic Photographers' Discussion

Signing into the new Optimal:

[This first part is from the OPS website -- www.opsweb.org/optimal]

What is Optimal? Optimal is a web-based message board that is dedicated to ophthalmic imaging. Members can post questions or comments to hundreds of other members with a common interest in ophthalmic diagnostic imaging. Formed by Joe Warnicki in 1994, Optimal has become one of the most valuable resources for ophthalmic photographers.

Who can subscribe? Anyone with an interest in Ophthalmic Diagnostic Photography is welcome to join Optimal. The list of users is comprised of Ophthalmic Photographers, Physicians, Ophthalmic Technicians, Hardware and Software Engineers, Equipment Manufacturers, and individuals from just about every other corner of the profession.

Do I have to be an OPS member to join? Although we would like everyone interested in Diagnostic Imaging to become a member of the Ophthalmic Photographers' Society, OPS membership is not a requirement for joining Optimal.

What is the relationship of Optimal and the OPS? OPTIMAL is an independent message board, and is not administratively connected to the OPS. The views and opinions of authors and vendors expressed on OPTIMAL are not necessarily those of the OPS, its individual members, or its commercial sponsors. The OPS, its individual members, and its commercial sponsors assume no responsibility for the views expressed on OPTIMAL.

How many messages will I receive? Optimal is a message board, so joining Optimal will not generate any email messages unless you choose to have Optimal notify you when new messages are posted.

Is it difficult to subscribe? No..... Simply visit the OPTIMAL link (http://eyelists.org), and you will be directed to a login screen. Click the "Register" button, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Changing your profile in the new Optimal:

If you find that you miss the immediacy of receiving daily emails from OPTIMAL, you can set your preferences to receive email notification when new messages are posted to OPTIMAL. Just log in to the Profile Editor feature by selecting "Edit Profile" from the main screen. This is in the top right corner of your EyeLists.org screen.

re-log-in with your username and password and put a check mark next to your choices (see below):

"Select those item(s) for which you wish to receive an automatic e-mail message from this discussion board"

To get a nice looking email, use -- "Send e-mail notification as HTML text rather than plain text" - - last choice in the above menu.

Click on Save Profile Changes.

You will then receive email notification of new postings and a direct link to the current message within the body of the email.

It's that simple.
